My weekend is gonna be CRAZY!!! planning leprechaun mischief at home and school but for now, here's a peak of some of our activities from the week.
When I first came to my school the PTO was throwing away these carnival chips so I turned them into a real and nonsense leprechaun's gold word game. Sometimes I put these in my sensory table but since Easter is so close to St. Pat's Day this year, I opted to put this in my pot 'o gold. My kinders LOVED it. You had to say the real or nonsense word (I had 3 and 4 lettered words to differentiate) to earn your gold piece but there were some clovers (give a piece of gold back), a couple of pots (steal a piece of gold from a friend) and a rainbow (game over everyone counts their coins) coin in there as well.
And my new math stations (this is from Math Stations Galore -10 Math Stations in one packet) including this find and count activity that had different recording sheets. One student is working on making ten and the other is working on tally marks. It's easy to differentiate to meet their readiness if they all have equally engaging activities despite their readiness levels.
So that's it for now. I plan on being back with a blog answering all the questions I had sent to me regarding sight word mastery (Ball Words). And I hope to have that posted this weekend, so stay tuned.
